  Question
The button on my standard tool bar for showing/hiding punctuation marks seems
to be "stuck" in an on position which results in all my documents showing the
punctuation marks. Is this a corrupted file? Should I reload the Office
suite?

  Answer
No, it's just a misunderstanding of how the Show/Hide ¶ works. It doesn't
toggle between All and nothing; it toggles between All and any individual
marks you may have selected on the View tab of Tools | Options. Go to the
View Options and clear all the check boxes, and you should be where you want
to be.
