I have SnagIt images (jpg and gif) that I have put into a RoboHelp Help
System. I have put borders around them all. When it converts to MSWord during
document creation, the borders are lost. Is there a way to either edit the
images to contain the borders, or do something with style sheets in either
RoboHelp or Word to force all picture inserts to have borders, or do some
sort of global formatting in Word to add the borders quickly
I don't know anything about RoboHelp, but I do know SnagIt and SnagIt can be
used to apply borders which will stay with the image if you save the
bordered image.

What Graham is proposing is the only safe way to do it. Help is quite picky
about which HTML encoding it will allow: if you want borders in your
pictures you must include them as graphic elements (i.e. Draw them in the
picture).
Personally, I would not include borders in pictures: people capable of
reading can usually figure out where a picture ends without needing a box
:-)
Cheers
