  Question
When counting words (or characters) in a document, how do I include the text
inside text boxes that happen to be part of the document? I find that the
text within these boxes go uncounted.

Thank you very much.

  Answer
If you highlight (select) the text, then hit word count it works

In the Review ribbon under word count, which is the box to the right of the
word "translate" there's an option to check a box to count text boxes,
headers, footers, etc.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to make that the default for every
document so I don't have to check it for every document.
