The text has been removed from the header, but a hard return remains in the header, which causes the first line of text to drop on each page. I am not able to just change the margins because this is a legal document. Any suggestion on how to completely remove the header would be appreciated. Barnhill 3/14/2006 1:37 PM PST   Answer   In Word 2002 and 2003 (and, it would appear, 2000 as well), if a header/footer has ever contained text, it is impossible to remove the empty paragraph. The only solution is to create a new document and paste the text of the old document in without the final paragraph mark. This is why it is inadvisable to add a header or footer to Normal.dot: even if removed, it causes alignment problems with labels. Another workaround in this case is to change the header margin to 0". -- Suzanne S.
