When I insert pictures into a Word document, I like a line around the picture
so it stands out from the text. How can I change the defauls so that a line
automatically occurs? I tried creating a shortcut key but couldn't find the
option for adding a line.
You'd need to preprocess it in a graphics app, or
you can record a macro, starting after you have inserted
the picture, that would add a shadow or a border to
the graphic with specific (recorded) line size and
coloring and you can assign a hotkey to use the macro
at the start of the recording process.
Applying a border to a graphic doesn't work if
you're inserting the picture using 'inline with text'
layout style as your default.
