Sweepstakes Official Rules

Please Note: This is a trade promotion. It is your sole responsibility to review and understand your employer’s policies regarding your eligibility to participate in trade promotions such as the Microsoft Office Work & Play Sweepstakes. If you are participating in violation of your employer’s policies, you may be disqualified from entering this sweepstakes or receiving prizes. Microsoft disclaims any and all liability or responsibility for disputes arising between an employee and their employer related to this matter and prizes will only be awarded in compliance with the employer’s policies.

1) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: No purchase necessary to enter or win. Promotion begins at 12:01 a.m. (Pacific Time) on March 28, 2006, and ends at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on May 31, 2006 (Promotion Period). The winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received.

2) HOW TO ENTER: There are two (2) ways to enter this sweepstakes. Method #1: You will automatically receive one (1) entry into the sweepstakes when you register to access any eligible Microsoft Office “On-Demand” webcast. Eligible webcasts are available online at http://www.microsoft.com/office/workplay. Once you have completed the “On-Demand” webcast registration process presented, you will receive one (1) entry; however you need not view any part of the actual webcast to be eligible. Only webcasts listed as “On-Demand” are eligible for entry. Method #2: You will automatically receive one (1) entry into the sweepstakes when you register to view the Microsoft Office 2003 product demonstration available online at http://www.microsoft.com/office/testdrive/default.mspx. During the set-up process for the Office 2003 demonstration, complete the registration form presented and click to submit as instructed to obtain one (1) entry. Entrants must complete all required information on the entry form to be eligible, however entrants need not view the entire Office 2003 product demonstration or webcast to receive an entry. An entrant may obtain one (1) entry per each entry method, for a maximum of two (2) entries per person. Multiple entries submitted by a single entrant in excess of the entry limit are void. Attempts by an individual to obtain additional entries by using multiple .NET Passport accounts will result in disqualification of the entrant. You must have a free .NET Passport to enter this sweepstakes. To obtain one, visit http://www.passport.net and follow the registration instructions. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late or misdirected entries or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

3) WINNER SELECTION: The winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Drawing will be conducted on or about June 7, 2006 under the supervision of an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on matters relating to this sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

4) PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize: A Sharp 37” Aquos LCD TV and a copy of Microsoft Digital Image Standard 2006. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Grand Prize: $2,950. Fifty (50) First Prizes: A copy of Microsoft Digital Image Standard 2006. ARV of First Prize: $37.95. Total ARV of all prizes: $4,848. Any expenses not explicitly listed herein, including any applicable tax on the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution, barter, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value if entire prize or a portion of a prize is unavailable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Limit: one (1) prize per person. Prizes will be awarded by e-mail and/or U.S. mail. Any and all guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim.

5) ELIGIBILITY: This trade promotion is open only to those employed as office workers and administrative assistants to whom this offer is presented and who are legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Microsoft Corporation and anyone working directly on Microsoft programs and its affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers, promotion, advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members and persons living in the households of each are not eligible to enter. Information Workers are defined as information managers, problem solvers, heavy communicators and performers of advanced computer activities. Government Customers: Microsoft intends that the use of this prize comply with applicable federal, state, and local government gift and ethics rules. If you are a government employee (including an employee of a public education institution), and you win a prizes, this prize may be used for evaluation purposes only, solely for the benefit of your agency/institution, and not for the personal use or benefit of any individual. You should consult with your agency/institution counsel or ethics officer prior to use of this product. You may return this product to Microsoft at its expense. Void where prohibited by law.

6) GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules. The laws of the United States govern this Sweepstakes. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The winner will be notified via e-mail and/or U.S. Mail within two (2) weeks of prize drawing. The winners may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and where legal, Publicity Release within 14 days following the date of issuance of notification. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Microsoft Corporation to use winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Microsoft Corporation and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and agents including Marden-Kane, Inc. from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize won.

7) INTERNET: The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the participant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited. If for any reason this sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

8) WHO WON: To receive name of the winner by mail after July 7, 2006, please mail a self addressed stamped envelope to: Microsoft Office Work & Play Winners, P.O. Box 701, Sayreville, NJ 08871-0701. Requests must be received by August 7, 2006
