The winners have been announced for the first annual PowerPoint Awards Festival. Thank you for all of the great submissions.
The winner in this category is deemed the best overall presentation. The winner is selected by Microsoft based on their overall mastery of PowerPoint tools. Judging takes both storytelling and viewer experience into account.
There is no set criteria for this award. Instead, the winner is selected based on a public vote from their PowerPoint peers.
The Best Graphics category awards the best use of graphics in a presentation. Graphics include pictures, illustrations, customized type or other
static art. PowerPoint pros generally agree that simple and bold graphics are more compelling than small or cluttered ones.
The Best Animation category awards the best use of animation and effects in a presentation. Animation is a versatile tool that can be used to
strengthen a message, but when overused can often be distracting. Motion effects, slide transitions and moving type all qualify as animations.
The Best Color category awards the best use of color in a presentation. Color can enhance a presentation when used correctly, but combining too many
or the wrong colors can detract from the overall message or hinder readability.
Video is a great way to add humor and supporting material to a presentation. It also gives the presenter a little time to catch their breath in
the middle of presenting. The Best Video category awards the best use of video.
The Best Synopsis category awards the best simplification of a complex topic in a presentation. This includes simplified charts, graphs, bullet
points and other tools that help simplify complex information.
