If your iPhone is currently running iOS 4, you must upgrade your device to iOS 4.0.1 in order to connect to Exchange Online.

Hardware requirements for mobile devices used to connect to Microsoft Online Services are determined by your Internet service provider, your wireless carrier, and the manufacturer of the mobile device. All of these entities must support the operating system and applications on your mobile device.
