Change Your Password

Topic Last Modified: 2011-11-03

You can change your password once every 24 hours. If you try to change your password a second time within 24 hours, you will be locked out of the Change Password page. If you are locked out, your service administrator can reset your password. For security reasons, passwords must be changed at least once every 90 days. The Microsoft Online Services Sign In application and My Company Portal prompt you to change your password 14 days before the 90-day limit.

To change your password

  1. In the Sign In application, click the Options tab.

  2. On the Options page, in the Sign In Preferences section, click Change password.

  3. On the Change Password page, type your old password and your new password in the appropriate boxes.

You must use a strong password. Strong passwords contain at least 8 characters and include a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers or non-alphanumeric characters. You cannot reuse any of your last 24 passwords.
  4. When you have finished, click Save.

  • If you have trouble changing your password, contact your service administrator to request a password reset.
  • You can also change your password on My Company Portal. In the upper right corner of the Home page, click Change password. If you change your password on My Company Portal, you should immediately sign out of the Sign In application and then sign in again.
