Why do new user accounts get invalid user name and password errors when accessing any of the Microsoft Online Services?

New user accounts are given temporary passwords. Users must change their passwords before they can access any of the Microsoft Online Services.

To change the password, use the Microsoft Online Services Sign In application or the My Company Portal - Change your password Web site.

Why am I constantly prompted for a user name and password when using Microsoft Online Services?

The Microsoft Online Services Sign In application is required for single sign-on and will prevent you from getting prompted. In addition, certain features will not work without the Sign In application.

Why does my user name and password no longer work?

It is possible that your password may have expired. Passwords expire in 90 days.

Use the Sign In application to enter your user name and password, and you will be prompted to change your password.

You can also go to the My Company Portal - Change your password Web site to change your password.

How can I unlock my account?

Accounts get locked out after five failed attempts. After being locked out, you must wait 15 minutes before trying to sign in again. You will also keep receiving the message indicating that your account is locked out until you successfully sign in. If you continue to have problems after waiting 15 minutes, please contact Microsoft Online Services Technical Support.
