Opalis Roadmap and Support Update

Microsoft will be releasing a new product into the System Center family titled System Center Orchestrator that will replace the Opalis Integration Server product produced by Opalis Software Inc. which Microsoft acquired in December 2009.

System Center Orchestrator 2012 will provide a number of new features, functions and capabilities in addition to migrating the Opalis Integration Server functionality into a Microsoft codebase.

Support for Opalis will end 12 months after Orchestrator releases, which is planned for end of 2011. Microsoft will publish specific support timelines for Opalis and Orchestrator after the release. Customers with Opalis specific support agreement will continue getting support until their agreement is expired.

When the support for Opalis ends, Microsoft will no longer provide new updates or hotfixes for Opalis and we’ll encourage customers to upgrade to Orchestrator which will be supported per Microsoft Support Lifecycle guidelines and policy.

Opalis Technical Support

Opalis will continue to support existing customers through their standard support practices and agreements. All support agreements are valid until they expire.

Support practices and procedures will be migrated to standard Microsoft practices over time and customers will be notified in advance of any process changes. New support contracts and the renewal of existing Opalis support contracts will be a Microsoft support offering.
