Microsoft and its employees have long recognized the importance of the
communities in which we work and live and since 1983 have been leaders in
the high-tech industry in making contributions. Microsoft supports and
encourages employee involvement in all Community Affairs programs and offers
many opportunities for employees to make a positive impact in their
communities.
Employee Giving Campaign
Through its matching contributions program, Microsoft allows its employees
to direct corporate contributions to thousands of non-profit organizations
working to improve lives in the United States and around the world.
Donations that U.S.-based employees make to eligible nonprofits are matched
dollar for dollar by the company, up to $12,000 each year. Through last
year's Employee Giving Campaign, Microsoft employee donations and the
corporate match totalled more than $ 32.7 million in cash.
Volunteerism
Employee volunteerism is also central to our philanthropic activities.
Microsoft employees give their time, knowledge, and skills through personal
involvement with students and leaders of higher education, youth programs,
public libraries, non-profit organizations, and the creative community.
