MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Insurance provider Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company, Inc. (PPLIC) recently signed an enterprise agreement with Microsoft Philippines, the local subsidiary of the world’s leading software manufacturer, to develop a combination of Microsoft solutions that will allow the organization to enhance its productivity and efficiency at cost-effective measures.

The Enterprise Agreement is part of Microsoft’s Volume Licensing program for organizations, providing businesses with tools that help them standardize IT infrastructure across the enterprise and retain the flexibility to choose from on-premises and cloud services through a cost-efficient and manageable licensing program.

“It has been our lifelong mission to give Filipinos the best financial advice, provide them with diversified products that cater to their specific needs and lead them to a better life,” said George Mercado, President & Chief Executive Office, Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company, Inc. “In order to do so, we need e a user-friendly yet technologically advance IT system to help us monitor accounts, increase productivity, help us service our clients better, and drive the business in the right direction.”

“It is an honor to engage in an enterprise agreement with such an innovative company and we are very happy that we, together with Shellsoft Technology Corporation, have been entrusted with Philippine Prudential Life’s business,” said Dette Nacario, SMSP Director, Microsoft Philippines. “With this partnership, we are fully committed to work towards helping PPLIC reach greater heights with the help of technology.”

Under the agreement, PPLIC will deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Exchange Server 2010 and Microsoft Core CAL Suite to establish a stable, more sustainable IT infrastructure. Using Windows Server 2008 R2, PPLIC will now have a server with increased flexibility and reliability that enhance user capabilities and allow PLLIC to handle its operations faster and more efficiently. With Windows Server 2008 R2, PPLIC is equipped with the same familiar tools plus the latest version of Microsoft’s virtualization technology that enables the organization to consolidate its servers and even build their own private cloud.

Complementing this is the deployment of Exchange Server 2010, which optimizes PPLIC’s communication infrastructure through a rich and productive collaboration of programs designed to simplify and protect transaction, as well allow users to securely access all forms of communication from virtually any platform for greater productivity and mobility.

Moreover, the implementation of Microsoft Core CAL suite provided PPLIC with a solid foundation to transform its infrastructure and reduce overall IT costs, making it a significantly successful investment.

“Through the enterprise agreement, PPLIC can now be confident that they have partners that are working hard to drive progress and growth at the least amount of cost,” concluded Nacario.
