Microsoft Philippines Takes Companies Beyond Virtualization through the Server Summit 2012
The System Center 2012 and SQL 2012 take center stage as Microsoft introduces it to businesses and partners in the Philippines.
21 March 2012, Ortigas City – Microsoft challenges IT professionals and IT administrators to look beyond virtualization and see the evolution of the data center through to the next level during the Microsoft Server Summit 2012 today.
Last year, Microsoft held its first-ever Server Summit, highlighting Cloud Strategy and its contributions to increased productivity and business growth. Back on its second year, the Server Summit showcases System Center 2012 and SQL 2012 and focuses on how these new innovations are redefining the management and delivery of service from the data center.
System Center 2012 helps manage your IT environments across traditional data centers, private and public clouds, client computers, and devices. “Microsoft has always made it a point to deliver the needs of our customers and partners. Through the Server Summit, we are enabling companies and data centers to deliver IT as a service, empowering IT administrators to focus on providing true Service Level Agreements (SLAs) versus just infrastructure management. In this way, data centers become more responsive to users’ needs,” said Joel Garcia, Server & Tools Business Group Lead, Microsoft Philippines.
The newly launched SQL 2012 evolves itself into the best Total Cost of Ownership platform to run and manage data on. With SQL Server 2012, customers approach cloud opportunities, whether private or public, on their own terms supported by advanced capabilities for mission critical confidence.
Recently adopting the SQL Server 2012 is Aboitiz Jebsen, a company that provides ship management, crew management, training and other fully integrated maritime services to shipping companies worldwide. This was made possible through a three-way partnership with dBWizards and Microsoft to provide Aboitiz Jebsen the capacity to stay competitive and upgrade its crewing system.
“The company’s move from the existing platform to a long-term sustainable system architecture allows for the accommodation of the complexity and additional functionality requirements in our operations. We evaluated various providers and applications and chose dB Wizards based on overall company stability, technical expertise and partnered with Microsoft to allow us to use the company’s newest version of SQL Server 2012,” said Bjorn Jebsen, Chairman of the Board, Aboitiz Jebsen Company, Inc.
Focused strategic partnerships between technology companies result in the improved ability to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes. One of Microsoft’s partners in the Server Summit 2012 is Dell Philippines, which is a company committed to empowering communities to use technology to realize people’s dreams. The company delivers technology solutions to their clients to help them achieve more by increasing business productivity and IT efficiency.
Allan Divinagracia, Dell Philippine’s Enterprise Business Manager, speaks of the company’s partnership with Microsoft. “Dell Philippines is committed to bring the best technology to our customers. We offer an intelligent infrastructure that delivers a host of innovative technologies that allow our customers to get more performance out of their database and decision support workloads using MS SQL Server 2012. Dell complements Microsoft’s data center solutions with our own server solutions, enhancing the overall Microsoft software experience,” mentioned by Divinagracia.
Business intelligence has remained in the Top 10 concerns of the CIO consistently for the past 5 years. With businesses demanding a longer competitive advantage and an even shorter time to market, business intelligence remains the crucial lever for delivering stronger results.
Other partners present in the event are Accenture, Fujitsu, PLDT and dB Wizards. Server Summit 2012 is one of a three-day IT event entitled INNOVATION UNIVERSE 2012, which brings together the country’s top IT vendors and established and up-and-coming innovators.
