Choosing Your Microsoft® PlayReady® Business Model
As an ISV, network operator, or content service provider, you can build and deploy services that support Microsoft® PlayReady®. Additionally, you can work directly with a PlayReady Service Provider in order to build and host a PlayReady service based solution on your behalf.
You can choose from one of the following options:
Licensing Microsoft PlayReady Server Technology
This option is for companies who want to either:
| • | Develop or deploy the PlayReady Server technology to other Licensees. |
| • | Entirely develop and deploy their own branded service. |
Engaging A PlayReady Service Provider
This option is for companies desiring to outsource their server development and Brand Service deployment efforts which utilize the PlayReady content access and protection technology. This option does not require you to directly license the PlayReady technology from Microsoft; instead, it links you to a PlayReady Service Provider that will do it for you.
