September 8, 2004

People can express their personality on the desktop with Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer in two new graphic finishes, Crimson Fire and Cobalt Basin, the latest in a line of special editions exclusively from Microsoft Corp. Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer connects directly to a USB or PS/2 port, and operates on both the PC and Macintosh platforms. Included IntelliPoint mouse software is necessary for full functionality of the scroll wheel with Tilt Wheel Technology and programmable buttons.

Product Description

Featuring a vibrant finish in dark red, Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer in Crimson Fire enflames computing with style. With a fluid pattern of deep blues, Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer in Cobalt Basin is a soothing addition to any desktop.

Both special-edition mice offer these original graphic finishes coupled with the ultimate performance features of the scroll wheel with Tilt Wheel Technology, enhanced wireless optical technology and five programmable buttons.

Features and Benefits

New! Two unique graphic finishes, Crimson Fire and Cobalt Basin, are available on Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for a limited time only.

Mouse scroll wheel with proprietary Tilt Wheel Technology delivers revolutionary capabilities. People can now scroll smoothly vertically and horizontally, which provides more control and ease when navigating long Web pages or spreadsheets. They can also depress the wheel to toggle between open windows, which is especially useful because research shows the average user has three applications running simultaneously.*

Exclusive, enhanced Microsoft Optical Technology delivers accuracy and precision, averaging six or more months of battery life for most users. Research shows people prefer six-month battery life to rechargeable options.2 Also, the glowing optical sensor replaces the mouse ball, meaning there are no moving parts to keep clean and no need for a mouse pad.

Smart receiver improves 27 MHz wireless technology and cuts down on interference. The included smart receiver and intuitive software notify the user when interference occurs from other wireless devices, such as cordless phones, and offer steps to help reduce that interference. Microsoft is a leader in the industry for working to reduce the likelihood of interference by using 65,000 random identification codes.

The shapely design conforms to the hand with an ergonomic form. The finger grooves and thumb scoop enhance the users grip, helping keep the hand and forearm naturally aligned.

Five buttons, including the wheel, can be easily reprogrammed to perform popular commands with a single touch. The side buttons are set by default for easy forward and backward Internet navigation.

Wireless freedom allows users to sit back and click up to six feet away from the receiver, even if it is out of sight. Eliminating wires on the desk also means less clutter and a more organized space.
