Microsoft and Logica announce strategic alliance to offer cloud services solutions

Microsoft and Logica have entered into an agreement to offer cloud based solutions to clients, utilising public and private cloud offerings with Microsoft's Windows Azure platform, Hyper-V Cloud and Microsoft Office 365 enabling clients to realise the benefits of and start their journey to cloud computing. This alliance has already proven to be successful, with three new clients Talentsoft, Backelite and Ventadis now working with Logica and Microsoft's teams in France to develop innovative solutions based on the Microsoft Windows Azure platform. The Royal Mail group has recently undergone huge modernisation of its services. Royal Mail needed to improve the resilience and flexibility of its IT infrastructure to prepare the company to meet the challenge of a changing market for postal services. The company looked to CSC as its IT outsourcing and systems integration partner to virtualise its servers using the Hyper-V feature of Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter. Transport for London selects Microsoft Azure to power cloud services

This forms the first major step of their comprehensive Digital Strategy and open data policy initiative. Microsoft Office Web Apps Availability in 15 New Asia and EMEA Countries

On December 7, the Office Web Apps (on Windows Live SkyDrive and Hotmail) become available in 15 additional countries in Asia and EMEA, including China, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and Turkey. People in these countries can now use the Web Apps to view, edit, and share Office documents from anywhere with a browser and an internet connection -- this includes viewing, editing and sharing Office document attachments in Hotmail.
