Microsoft hosts the BizSpark European Summit 2012 in London

Now in its 8th year, the BizSpark European Summit brings together thought leaders in the entrepreneurial community across Europe - investors, start-ups, journalists, government representatives, and Network Partners. The event provides a unique platform to debate the issues facing tech entrepreneurs in Europe and see some of the best start-ups in Europe. Panel sessions at the summit will be discussing The Future of Apps, The Business of Cloud and debating The Evolution of Tech Talent. In addition a Europe-wide Start-up Showcase will feature fourteen of the most promising BizSpark start-ups. After a rigorous selection process, these fourteen companies will pitch live in front of an audience of investors and panel of expert judges. Microsoft continues its investment in the next generation of Europe's leaders

Jean-Philippe Courtois, President of Microsoft International, outlines how Microsoft's major investments in Europe this week underscore the company's commitment to realizing individual opportunity and unlocking entrepreneurial talent. Microsoft has announced the company will award €1.5 million in cash grants to 17 European NGOs who help youth gain workforce skills, as well as the launch of a new AppCampus program in partnership with Nokia and the University of Aalto in Finland. Microsoft and Nokia will each invest up to €9 million in the latter program over the next three years to support innovation and growth among mobile startups.

Microsoft: Cloud Computing to Create Millions of Jobs

Microsoft Corp. today published commissioned research from analyst firm IDC indicating that cloud computing will create nearly 14 million new jobs globally by 2015 – including over two million in Europe, Middle East and Africa. IDC's research predicts revenues from cloud innovation could reach $1.1 trillion per year by 2015, which, combined with cloud efficiencies, will drive significant organizational reinvestment and job growth. Microsoft Drives Cloud Innovation in Tourism with the UN World Tourism Organization

European small business owners unite behind the cloud
