After three days of intense competition by students from around the world, the finalists in this year’s Imagine Cup, taking place in Paris, have been announced. Dubbed a “technology Olympics,” the event tasks students with a challenge, this year to “imagine a world where technology enables a sustainable environment.” Demonstrating the continuing trend of a new generation of software designers emerging from Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia, finalists in the Software Design category include China, Brazil, Hungary, Slovakia, Portugal and Australia. In Embedded Development, China, Ireland, Korea, Poland, Singapore and Ukraine will face off against each other. The Game Development finalists are from Belgium, Brazil and Korea. Students’ sound bites are included from Italy, Germany, South Korea, China, Egypt, Greece, Australia, Brazil and Ireland.
