SEATTLE – May 1, 2009 – Each year, the Washington Technology Alliance holds its annual State of Technology luncheon. This year’s event, held May 1 in Seattle, attracted nearly 1,200 Puget Sound-area businesses, political, education and technology leaders. They came to hear about technology and review educational and governmental challenges that must be met to enhance Washington state’s technological standing.
One of the key attractions this year was an appearance by Ray Ozzie, Microsoft’s chief technology officer, and one of the key drivers behind Microsoft’s work in “cloud” computing. Ozzie joined Ed Lazowska, the Bill & Melinda Gates Chair in Computer Science and Engineering at University of Washington for a “keynote conversation” on the state of technology.
