Steve Anonsen is a Distinguished Engineer currently working in the Developer Division, where his responsibility is architectural oversight for Visual Studio business application initiatives.

Anonsen previously worked on the Dynamics NAV and Dynamics AX product lines in the Microsoft Business Division and on business application frameworks and model-centric architecture in the Developer Division. He has focused on a number of concerns relevant to business applications, including data access and modeling, repositories, analytics and reporting, workflow, application frameworks, application server design, and user interface.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Anonsen was a Technical Fellow at Great Plains Software, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2001. In his 14 years at Great Plains, he worked as architect and developer on the company’s major product lines, including Dynamics, eEnterprise, Microsoft Profit, and Great Plains Accounting. He worked on both the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications and the infrastructure and tools used to write them.

Anonsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from North Dakota State University, which named him a Master in 2002, and holds numerous software patents.
