Erik JorgensenCorporate Vice President, Special Initiatives Updated: Oct. 25, 2011 Erik Jorgensen is corporate vice president for special initiatives, focusing on long term strategies and partnerships for the Online Services Division (OSD). Prior to that, he was the corporate vice president for Bing Mobile, which delivers search results, maps, answers, local information and more to mobile devices. Since joining Microsoft Corp. in 1995, Jorgensen has held various positions across consumer software and online services. He previously led the MSN organization and the launch of Virtual Earth, Mobile Search and Local Search. He has also overseen the MSN Channels, including MSNBC, MSN Money, Carpoint, Slate, Travel, Sports and HomeAdvisor. Earlier, he had formed and led the product management teams for MSN and the Microsoft Ad Platform. He spent six years in the Financial Products Group, running the product development, operations and marketing of Microsoft Money, MSN Money and financial enterprise services. In 2001, Institutional Investor named Jorgensen one of the five most influential people in the online financial services industry. He started at Microsoft in the Multimedia Division, working on consumer CD-ROM titles. Jorgensen began his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble Co. and Dial Corp. He has a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, and lives in the San Diego area with his wife and two children.
