As vice president of the Network Service Providers Group servicing the Americas region, Martin Thall is responsible for sales, marketing, consulting and support services for wireline and wireless carriers, cable operators, Internet and application service providers, and network equipment providers in the United States, Canada, Latin America and South America. His groups mission is to develop business partnerships with network service providers and enable the delivery of innovative and profitable services to customers. Thall brings nearly 20 years of experience in the technology industry to those efforts, holding positions in management, product development, product engineering, sales and consulting. Thall joined Microsoft in 1996 as a managing consultant in the New York/New Jersey district where he focused on large-enterprise accounts. In this role, Thall was responsible for driving the acceptance, adoption and deployment of Microsoft®
products while ensuring customer satisfaction and industry partner development in the region. In December 1997 Thall was promoted to practice manager for Microsoft Consulting Services. In June 1998 he became the general manager of the New Jersey and upstate New York district for Microsoft. In this capacity, Thall was responsible for sales and services to all Microsoft customers in the district, including large enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, educational institutions and consumers. Before joining Microsoft, Thall held various management, sales and technical positions at Digital Equipment Corp. and one of Microsofts solution providers. Thall is the proud father of a son and daughter, and is an avid baseball fan and athlete. He attended the University of Richmond and has been the recipient of numerous awards for his customer satisfaction, sales and management achievements.
