Mike NashCorporate Vice President, Windows Platform Strategy Updated: October 14, 2009 Mike Nash, corporate vice president for Windows Platform Strategy, is responsible for key components of the Windows Platform, including business strategy, ecosystem engagement, consumer security, Internet Explorer, and emerging markets. A long-time member of the Microsoft team, Nash has held various positions in Windows marketing. He was the first product manager on the original Windows NT marketing team. His work on security, while corporate vice president of the Security Technology Unit (STU), was key in helping Microsoft raise the bar on trustworthy computing and deliver a more secure platform. He was also instrumental in driving the key acquisitions, product management and product development that resulted in the enhanced security features of Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista, the Microsoft Forefront Security suite of products for enterprises, and Microsoft Security Essentials for consumers. As corporate vice president of the Microsoft Content Development and Delivery Group, Nash oversaw the operation and content of Microsoft.com. He also served as general manager of Business Windows Product Management, which included Windows 2000, Windows NT, Systems Management Server, SNA Server, Proxy Server and other Microsoft infrastructure products. And he was responsible for the launch of Windows 2000. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1991, Nash was a project leader and software developer at Data General Corp., where he developed operating system kernel components and led a team involved in building PC integration software. Nash holds a bachelor's degree in computer science with honors from the Cornell University College of Engineering, and an MBA with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
