MILAN, Italy, Oct. 9, 2009 - Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Giorgio Armani and Won Pyo Hong, executive vice president at Samsung Mobile, introduced the new Giorgio Armani-Samsung smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 during a joint press release in Milan, Italy. On October 6 Microsoft unveiled a new generation of Windows phones from leading manufacturers and mobile operators that offer an intuitive user interface, powerful Web browsing, and access to an online library of downloadable services and applications. "Mobile phones armed with Windows Mobile bring together the best of the Web, the PC and mobile phones so that people can connect instantly to the experiences they care about," said Ballmer. "But people want more than just a useful device - they want a phone that offers design qualities that match their personality and lifestyle. The Giorgio Armani-Samsung smartphone we're announcing today with Giorgio Armani and Samsung combines technology innovation and fashion to deliver a great mobile phone that also fulfills the desire for style and elegance."
