REDMOND, Wash., June 13, 2003 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the winners of its 2003 Microsoft® Vendor Program (MSVP) Excellence Awards. The MSVP Excellence Awards recognize vendors that consistently provide an outstanding level of service and quality to Microsoft by meeting specified criteria in areas such as quality, innovation, diversity and technology.
2003 MSVP Excellence Award Winners
Winners were announced in six categories, Diversity, Quality, Service, Technology, Value and Vendor of the Year:
| • | Vendor of the Year : Flextronics International Ltd. demonstrated excellence in two or more categories. |
| • | Diversity : Compass Group and Thompson Hospitality significantly increased its annual spending with a business owned by a minority, woman or disabled veteran.

| • | Quality : Arvato Services Inc. significantly increased quality by introducing an innovative quality improvement initiative.

| • | Service : Excell Data Corp. significantly increased flexibility and responsiveness by clearly demonstrating that customer satisfaction is its No. 1 priority.

| • | Technology : Toshiba America Information Systems successfully implemented technology that enables superior performance in supply chain operations.

| • | Value : Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (Optical Media Solutions Division) significantly decreased costs and/or increased efficiencies by introducing an innovative cost-savings initiative.

The Microsoft Vendor Program
Through MSVP Microsoft is continuing to improve operating efficiencies, reduce costs, simplify relationships with vendors, and strengthen its commitment to vendor diversity and small businesses by creating strong relationships with its Premier and Preferred suppliers.
