Microsoft Announces Winners of the Windows Embedded Partner Excellence Awards
Leading technology partners honored for achievement on embedded device platforms.

LAS VEGAS — May 1, 2007 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the winners of the 2007 Windows® Embedded Partner Excellence Awards for North and South America, which were presented during the Windows Embedded Partner Summit yesterday at Microsoft® Mobile and Embedded DevCon 2007. Now entering their sixth year, the awards recognize visionary organizations around the world that use Windows Embedded technology in innovative and creative ways. Windows Embedded Partners were honored for their work in categories ranging from Systems Integrator to Silicon Vendor, highlighting the many innovative ways that companies are using the Microsoft Windows Embedded platform.

“Microsoft is excited to recognize the contributions of our embedded partners and their important role in the continued success of the Windows Embedded offerings,” said Ilya Bukshteyn, director of marketing in the Windows Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft. “Helping our partners bring innovative devices to market quickly and efficiently is our top priority.”

The winners in each category for their work with the Windows Embedded CE, Windows XP Embedded and Windows Embedded for Point of Service platforms are these:

Applied Data Systems Inc.; Winner: Independent Hardware Vendor. For its strategic OEM design engagements and its evangelism for the Windows Embedded platform

Compusoftware Informatica Ltda. (Brazil); Winner: Distributor. For its leadership role in helping accelerate the adoption of the Windows Embedded Point of Sale platform while also developing new business opportunities in South America

Datalight Inc.; Winner: Independent Software Vendor. For its strategic OEM design engagements helping numerous OEMs create next-generation Windows Embedded-based devices including cameras, set-top boxes and handheld medical devices

Exceptional Innovation; Winner: Windows Embedded Server Products Original Equipment Manufacturer. For its use of the Windows Embedded product family, including Windows Embedded CE, Windows XP Embedded, Windows Server® and Windows XP Media Center Edition to deliver state-of-the-art storage solutions for small offices and home users

IBM Corp.; Winner: Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS) Original Equipment Manufacturer. For its wide-ranging collaboration in the retail space, and for driving adoption of WEPOS by large retailers

Intrinsyc Software International Inc.; Winner: Systems Integrator. For its leadership role in helping accelerate the adoption of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 through offering OEMs turnkey hardware and software services

Motorola Inc.; Winner: Windows Embedded CE Original Equipment Manufacturer. For its innovation and expertise in helping bring new Windows Embedded solutions to market quickly including the forklift RFID reader, wearable scanners and set-top boxes

PHYTEC America LLC; Winner: Registered Partner. For its leadership and innovation in support of the Windows Embedded solutions offering OEMs cutting-edge embedded modules based on industry-standard microcontrollers

Texas Instruments Inc.; Winner: Silicon Vendor. For delivering an innovative line of Windows Embedded CE-based devices for the video market

Wyse Technology; Winner: Windows XP Embedded Original Equipment Manufacturer. For its leadership in the thin-client space, and delivering an innovative line of Windows Embedded-based devices supporting dual video and integrated wireless technology
