Currently a technical issue prevents the Office 2007 upgrade version from recognizing Works 9 and Works SE 9. Please follow the link below to download a solution to this issue.

When installed with Office applications, this converter allows you to be able to open, edit, and save files in the Works Word Processor file format supported by the Works versions 6, 7, 8, and 9. Supported Office versions: Office 2003 Service Pack 2 or greater; Office 2007. Supported operating systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or greater, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista.

When you try to print from the Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet or from the Microsoft Works 8 Database on a Microsoft® Windows Vista™ or Windows® XP SP2 computer, you may receive the following error message:

“Microsoft Works 8 has stopped working.”

This issue occurs because of an unexpected memory allocation failure in Works 8.

This download will remove error messages that might be received if you install Works 7.0 on a computer and Word 2002 is already installed on the same computer. If you start Word 2002 and the following error message appears, download this update.

When you attempt to print a Works Calendar, the first print dialog box that allows you to make your print choices may appear, but when clicking OK to continue the print job, nothing happens. This behavior can occur if Microsoft® Internet Explorer version 6.0 is installed on your computer. To resolve this issue, download now.

The Works Mail Merge patch enables users of Works 6.0 and Works 2000 to open mail merge documents created in Works 4x. The mail merge fields are preserved. You can merge from Works databases with field names that include punctuation and spaces. This patch has been tested with Works 2000 and Works 6.0 running on Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000.

The patch for the Microsoft Clip Gallery 5.0 addresses a vulnerability that could cause a buffer overrun in Clip Art Gallery. The buffer overrun could cause Clip Gallery 5.0 to stop responding, or it could allow the execution of arbitrary code on a user's computer. This arbitrary code, embedded by a malicious user within a file downloaded by Clip Art Gallery to the user's computer, could be harmful, damaging information stored on the computer.

The Word 2000 Batch Works file converter, included in Works Suite 2000, helps you convert all of your Works document files into Word 2000 format.

To install the file converter on your computer:

1. Start Word 2000.
2. On the File menu, click New, and then click More Word Templates.
3. Click the Other Documents tab.
4. Click Batch Conversion Wizard, and then click OK. If this is your first use of the file converter, you will be prompted to insert the Word 2000 CD from the Works Suite package into the CD-ROM drive.
5. Follow the instructions in the Batch Conversion Wizard.

The Works 2000 to Word Converter enables users of Word 2000, Word 97, or Works 4.x to open Works 2000 word-processing files. This converter has been tested with Works 4.0, Works 4.5, Works 2000, Word 97, and Word 2000 running on Windows 98 and Windows Me.
