In July 2007, top-name professional photographers and industry leaders gathered on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington, for the 2nd annual Microsoft Pro Photo Summit. The Summit provides a forum to discuss the top issues affecting the industry, which last year included copyright and orphan works, digital rights management, the business of photography, the impact of digital, still capture versus video, and more. The event opened with a keynote by Microsoft Chief Technical Officer David Vaskevitch, followed by fast-paced demonstrations of some of the latest technology in digital photography. A series of panel discussions then provided an interactive opportunity for discussion. By bringing together the key people in the industry, the Summit creates an environment for collaboration on solutions to key challenges.
The highlight video available here provides an overview of the issues and insights at the Pro Photo Summit. Details about the 2008 Microsoft Pro Photo Summit will be posted here as they become available.
