The Microsoft Malware Protection Center (MMPC) portal is an interactive Web portal designed to help you research the latest threats to your computer security and find out how you can respond to them. This portal is one way that the MMPC shares results of its research and response to current malware threats with customers.

The MMPC includes the following:

•	A Malware Encyclopedia
•	A method to submit a sample for testing
•	Up-to-date antispyware signatures for Windows Defender
•	Information about top threats and potentially unwanted software determined by customers who report them to the MMPC and by information obtained from Microsoft security products such as the Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) Windows Defender, and Windows Live OneCare
•	Tools and resources such as the Microsoft Security Intelligence Report

Research a particular virus or other threat by searching or browsing our encyclopedia. Threat results include:

•	Alternate names for the malware
•	A detailed summary
