Getting Around in Microsoft Reader

  • To go to another part of Microsoft Reader
  • To annotate the eBook you are reading
  • To use the Navigation menu and the Cover Page menu
  • To go to another part of Microsoft Reader

    From eBook pages

    • Click the eBook's title in the Header or the downward-facing arrow at the top of the page, to see options for navigating outside the eBook you are reading, for example to the Library or the Settings page. Or,
    • Click Return to go to the last page visited.

    From non-eBook pages or the Cover Page of any eBook

    • Click an option on the Navigation menu along the left side of the page to go to that location.

    To annotate the eBook you are reading

    • Click in the eBook's text to perform functions such as highlighting, adding notes, drawing pictures, or placing bookmarks. You can learn more about Annotations in the Features Support section of this site.

    To use the Navigation Bar and the Cover Page menu

    From the Navigation menu along the left side of non-eBook pages or the Cover Page of any eBook

    • Click Library to go to your Library page.
    • Click Shop to view the Shop listings.
    • Click Help to see Microsoft Reader Help.
    • Click Return to go to the last page visited.

    Note: You will need to have a working Internet connection, and be connected to the Internet, for the Shop feature to be operational.

    From the Go To menu on the Navigation menu

    • Click Table of Contents to see a list of the eBook's contents.
    • Click Most recent page to go to the last page visited.
    • Click Begin reading to go to the first page of the eBook.
    • Click Annotations to see a list of any notes, highlights, bookmarks, or drawings you have inserted. If no annotations have been made, this choice will be grayed out.
    • Click Cover Image to see the eBook's cover

    Note: If the eBook you are reading does not have a Table of Contents, that choice will not appear on the Cover Page menu.

    Note: The cover page may also contain a copyright notice below the author's name, which links to important copyright information indicating legal ownership of the eBook and explaining distribution rights.
