Adding eBooks to your PC
Microsoft Reader automatically adds a folder to the My Documents folder on
your hard drive, called My Library, when you install the software. When you
purchase an eBook and move it to your folder, it will be listed in your Microsoft
Reader Library.
To download eBook files from the Web
-
Go to your favorite online eBook retailer and follow their instructions
to download the eBook files to your desktop computer.
-
Be sure that any eBook files you place on your machine appear in the
My
Library
folder inside the My Documents folder. Any eBook that appears
in the My Library folder will appear inside Microsoft Reader on the Library
page.
Note: The location of the folder that holds your Microsoft Reader eBooks
(.lit files) can be changed by using Windows Explorer to move the folder. The
next time you open Microsoft Reader you will be prompted to browse to the folder's
new location. From then on, Microsoft Reader will automatically use that folder.
