Using Features Unique to Microsoft Reader for Tablet PC

Updated: November 7, 2002

Microsoft Reader for Tablet PC includes some features found only in this version of Microsoft Reader. You can create ink comments, change pen and eraser styles, and view graphics in the Picture Viewer.

  • Creating Ink Comments
  • Changing Pen Style
  • Changing Eraser Style
  • Viewing Graphics in Picture Viewer
  • Creating Ink Comments

Use the Ink Comment feature in the Annotations menu to add ink comments to your eBook pages. You can select pen and eraser settings to customize the thickness, color, and style tip for your drawing or text. You can save, undo your last stroke, or erase your changes. When you add an ink comment, Microsoft Reader inserts an anchor point closest to the text (or insertion point) where you made your ink comment. This anchor point moves and resizes your comment when you change the Microsoft Reader font settings or resize the Microsoft Reader window.

Note: If you have already created a drawing in your eBook, then you can use the drawing annotation tool to edit or delete the existing drawing.

    To create ink comments

    1. Right-click text to create an anchor point in your eBook, and then select Ink Comment from the Annotations menu.
    2. Click and drag to create your ink comment on the eBook page.
    3. Click Exit and choose Yes to save your ink comment and exit the toolbar.

Note: Your ink comments stay within the relative position of the anchor point. For example, if you insert your ink comment two inches above of your anchor point, it always stays within two inches of that anchor point.
