Scheduled cache content download service

The scheduled cache content download service (w3prefch) is a Windows 2000 service that downloads cache content from Web servers, according to the jobs you configure using ISA Management. For more information, see Updating cache content automatically.

The scheduled cache content download service is installed and enabled when you install Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server in cache or integrated mode. For more information on modes, see ISA Server modes.

You can use ISA Management to monitor scheduled cache content download service status. For more information, see Real-time monitoring. Similarly, you can use ISA Management to stop or start the scheduled cache content download service. For more information, see Start a service.
