Understanding ISA Server

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server integrates firewall and cache features to secure your network and to improve its performance.

As a firewall, ISA Server routes requests and responses between the Internet and client computers after determining if the communication is allowed. As a cache, ISA Server stores frequently-requested Internet sites so that the objects can be quickly accessed by clients directly from the ISA Server computer, rather than from the Internet.
