To initialize the enterprise

1.

At a command prompt, type

Path\ISA\i386\Msisaent.exe

where Path is the path to the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server installation files. The path may be the root folder of the ISA Server CD or a shared folder on your network that contains the ISA Server files.

2.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Notes

If you downloaded the ISA Server installation files from the Web, or if you copied the contents of the ISA Server CD, run the ISAautorun.exe file at a command prompt to begin the ISA Server enterprise initialization.

In order to install the ISA Server schema to Active Directory, you must be an administrator on the local computer. In addition, you must be a member of the Enterprise Admins and Schema Admins groups. See Active Directory in Windows 2000 Help for specific instructions on user and group permissions.

The ISA Server schema only has to be installed once to Active Directory for the entire enterprise.

Caution

The enterprise initialization process copies the ISA Server schema information to Active Directory. Because Active Directory does not support deletion of schema objects, the enterprise initialization process is irreversible.
