Using online registration

With online registration, you can use your modem or an Internet connection to register your copy of Windows XP. Registration ensures that you receive product support, product update information, and other benefits. The process takes only a few minutes to complete.

It is important to understand the difference between registering your copy of Windows XP and activating it. Registration is optional and involves submitting some personal information to Microsoft. Windows Product Activation is part of Microsoft's effort to combat piracy and other unauthorized uses of its products. Activation is required, does not involve submitting any personal information (except the country you live in), and is a quick and easy process. For more information, click Related Topics.
