Edlin: p (page)

Displays all or part of a file, one page (that is, full screen of text) at a time. Used without parameters, p displays a page of text that begins with the line after the current line.

Syntax

[line1][, line2]p

Parameters

line1 : Specifies the first line you want Edlin.exe to display.

line2 : Specifies the last line you want Edlin.exe to display.

?: Displays a list of edlin subcommands.

Remarks

Windows XP does not use this command. It is accepted only for compatibility with MS-DOS files. 

This tool is not available on Windows XP 64-Bit Edition. 

The last line displayed on the screen becomes the current line on the new screen.

Omitting parameters

When you omit line1, Edlin.exe displays a page of text that begins with the current line through line2. When you omit line2, Edlin.exe displays a page of text that begins with line1. If you omit line1 and line2, Edlin.exe displays a page of text that begins with the line after the current line.

Examples

To see lines 100 through 200, one page at a time, type:

100,200p
