To reset an event log to default settings

1.	Open Event Viewer
2.	In the console tree, click the log you want to reset.
3.	On the Action menu, click Properties.
4.	On the General tab, click Restore Defaults.

Note

•	To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.
•	You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to reset an event log to the default settings.
