You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.
1. | Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. |
2. | Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. |
3. | Right-click the local area connection, and then click Add. |
4. | In Local Area Network Properties, click Install. |
5. | In Select Network Component Type, click Protocol, and then click Add. |
6. | Click NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol, click OK, and then click Close. |
7. | In Network Connections, on the Advanced menu, click Advanced Settings. |
8. | On the Adapters and Bindings tab, under Connections, click the local area connection you are enabling IPX/SPX file and print sharing on. |
9. | Under Bindings for Local Area Connection, under File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks, clear the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) check box, and then click OK. |
