To enable IPX/SPX file and print sharing on Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows Millennium Edition

1.

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click Network.

3.

If File and Print Sharing is installed, click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and then click Remove.

4.

Click Add.

5.

In Select Network Component Type, click Protocol, and then click Add.

6.

In Select Network Protocol, under Manufacturers, click Microsoft.

7.

Under Network Protocols, click IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol and then click OK.

8.

On the Network properties page, click Add, and then in Select Network Component Type, click Service.

9.

In Select Network Service, under Manufacturers, click Microsoft.

10.

Under Network Services, click File and Printer Sharing for NetWare Networks and then click OK.

 Important

Only perform this procedure if your home or small office computers are connected directly to the Internet through individual connections or using a DSL or cable modem connected to an Ethernet network hub.
