Getting started with speech recognition
You might need to perform the following tasks to use speech recognition.
Install speech recognition
The speech recognition engine might or might not be installed and ready to use. If not, you need to install it.
Set up and position your microphone
Use a high-quality close-talk (headset) microphone, and ensure that it is connected and working correctly.
Train speech recognition
You need to train the speech recognition engine so it will understand your voice. The more you train it, the better it will be at converting speech to text.
Create a speech profile
A speech profile is created automatically for the first person that trains the speech recognition engine to recognize his or her voice. Anyone else using the same logon account must set up a separate profile before conducting training. In addition, you might want to create separate profiles for different noise environments.
