To password-protect your computer during standby or hibernation

1.

Open Power Options in Control Panel.

2.

Click the Advanced tab, then click Prompt for password when computer resumes from sleep. The password for which you will be prompted when the computer resumes is the password for the currently logged-on user account.

Note

To open Power Options, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Power Options

You use your Windows password for both standby and hibernation
