Using rasdial
You can create a simple batch file that connects to a dial-up network connection by using the rasdial command. You can also use rasdial to connect to or disconnect from a network connection from a command line. Unlike autodial, the rasdial command does not automatically detect your network connection status before dialing a connection and is not dependent on the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service.
For example, you might want to automatically connect to a dial-up connection during off-peak hours in order to transfer large data files. You can create a batch file or a series of batch files to automate this process. You would use the rasdial command to start and end the dial-up connection. There are additional configurable parameters that are associated with Rasdial, such as what phone number to use, whether to use a callback number.
