To turn on subtitles

Do one of the following:

To turn subtitles on for a selected disc, on the View menu, point to DVD Features, point to Subtitles and Captions, and then click the language in which you want subtitles to appear.

To turn subtitles on for all discs, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the DVD tab. In Subtitles, click the language in which you want subtitles to appear. Note that this setting may not work with all discs.

Subtitles appear while the selected disc is playing.

Subtitles and closed captions cannot be displayed at the same time. Player performance may degrade when displaying subtitles or closed captions on computers with limited video memory.
