Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server provides secure, fast, and manageable Internet connectivity. ISA Server integrates an extensible, multilayer enterprise firewall and a scalable high-performance Web cache.

Microsoft has created the processor-based licensing model to simplify the acquisition and maintenance of ISA Server software licenses.

A customer acquires a Processor License for each CPU contained in the machine running their server software.

A Processor License includes access for an unlimited number of users to connect from either inside the corporate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) or outside the firewall.

Customers are no longer required to purchase additional Server licenses, Client Access Licenses (CALs), or Internet Connector Licenses.
