Data Privacy Day: Microsoft Events
To commemorate Data Privacy Day, Microsoft is participating in a series of events to raise awareness about online privacy and safety issues.

In the European Union, Microsoft partnered with Schoolnet, Inc. to sponsor a video contest for students. Microsoft will host a panel with Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Sophie in't Veld to discuss online child safety at the European Parliament.
In Canada, Microsoft will participate in a panel hosted by the Canadian Office of Privacy Protection to examine the development of privacy enhancing technologies.
In the United States, Microsoft will release a short documentary-style video highlighting findings from focus group research conducted in Dallas, Texas and San Francisco, California. The research examines privacy issues of concern among target age groups.
The video, to be unveiled during a Data Privacy Day event, titled "My Privacy: Safely Navigating Life Online," will frame a panel discussion at the San Francisco Public Library.
The panel, which is open to the public, will focus on strategies to increase consumer awareness of online privacy issues and provide attendees with practical tips and information that can be applied to protect the integrity of personal data online.
