Safer Internet Day
Microsoft supports Safer Internet Day (SID), a global campaign that promotes a healthy Internet for everyone. Organized by Insafe and co-founded by the European Union, SID encourages more responsible use of online technologies and services. In 2013, Microsoft helped to promote Internet safety education and responsible online behavior under the SID theme, "Connect with Respect."
In conjunction with SID, Microsoft released the results of its second annual Microsoft Computing Safety Index (MCSI). This tool is based on global research, which aims to help gauge how consumers are meeting the challenges of today’s digital world. For 2013, we extended the countries included in the study and added new questions.
SID is more than just the activities on one specific day. We should all make regular efforts to help protect our devices, information, and each other in our digital world. Consider taking action with the ideas below, and then help spread the word to others in your community and social networks.

Consider conducting an online safety event in your office or community. Use the Digital Citizenship in Action Toolkit to plan and deliver your presentation and event. The Toolkit contains brochures, videos, Microsoft PowerPoint templates with speaker notes, posters, and more.
