As Microsoft Singapore has grown, so too has our commitment to give back to the communities where we live and work.

Microsoft Corporate Citizenship
Microsoft Singapore has an unwavering commitment to help Singapore and its people realise their fullest potential. Our goal is to support those in need through community-based philanthropic efforts and education initiatives.

Over the last five years, we have donated over $5.5 million in cash and kind to more than 200 Singaporean charities and the community. Some of the beneficiaries include The Salvation Army, Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) and Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).

The President's Challenge 2004
Microsoft Singapore gladly participated in this year's President's Challenge to help underprivileged Singaporeans realise their fullest potential. Through a special event called Windows to Your Heart, Microsoft Singapore employees built IT centres from scratch, and equipped them with the latest technology. Employees also taught basic IT skills to help people re-enter the workforce and build self-confidence.

LearnIT!
This was the first community-based IT education initiative jointly implemented by a corporate organisation and the Central Singapore CDC. The Microsoft-Central Singapore CDC LearnIT! Programme provided residents living in Central Singapore with free IT training in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Over 600 residents benefited from this training to enhance their position in the job market.

Singapore Information Technology Federation (SiTF) Volunteers' Day
Microsoft Singapore employees, along with other employees of other infocomm industries, spent a day helping out at the Salvation Army's Youth Development Centre (YDC). It was a great opportunity to give youths some positive reaffirmation and a greater sense of self-worth.

Microsoft Harmony in IT Camp
In June 2004, 60 underprivileged students aged 13-17 attended the first Microsoft Harmony in IT Camp where they were taught IT skills to promote creativity and racial harmony. The goal was to inspire Singapore's youth by exposing them to innovative technology.
