Getting Started
Taking advantage of Microsoft Open Value Subscription for your business is as easy
as this:
1. Count the total numbers of computers in your company
2. Choose the Enterprise product(s) you want to subscribe to:
- Microsoft® Office Professional Plus 2007
- Microsoft® Office Small Business 2007
- Windows Vista® Business Upgrade with Vista Enterprise
- Small Business Server (SBS) CAL
- Core CAL
- Small Business Desktop Suite
- Desktop Professional Suite
3. Place your order with any Microsoft Reseller
You can receive up to a 50%* first year discount for
select licenses you own today that you transition to subscription licenses.
After Subscribing
> After the subscription agreement is in place, go about
your business. Add computers anytime you'd like during the year and you can install
your Enterprise subscription license(s) on them for no additional fee.
> On the first year anniversary date of your Open Value
Subscription, recount your total number of computers. This new count determines
your license fee for the second year of your subscription. Since the Open Value
Subscription provides one fee per computer, if your count is the same, you pay the
same as year one. If it's higher, you pay more. If it's lower, you pay less.
> Repeat the process on your second anniversary.
> On the third anniversary you count again and have the
option to renew the subscription, buy-out your licenses or remove the software from
your machines.
Adding Products to Your Subscription
> You may add Enterprise products to all your computers
at any time. The process is the same: count your computers, pay for licenses for
the next 12 months based on that count. Add/remove computers during the year at
no additional charge. Recount in 12 months and pay fees due based on the new count.
> You can also add non-Enterprise products to your subscription
at any time. For the non-Enterprise products (called "Additional products"), you
pay a one-time fee the month you install the product(s) and then once a year on
your annual anniversary along with your Enterprise product(s).
